Walmart is set to pay a record $7.7 million fine to settle a class action suit filed last year over its bonus race and bonus payout systems.
In July 2016, the plaintiffs alleged that Walmart’s bonus system was broken, and that Walmart paid the bonuses to people who performed poorly in its pay checks.
In September, Walmart settled the suit by agreeing to pay the plaintiffs $11.3 million and not to charge the class members more than the bonuses they earned.
Walmart said it will provide a review of the settlement by the end of 2019.
